when VW revealed the new North American Passat after the dieselgate scandal in the fall, they showed the public a R-Line Passat. what the actual hell actually happened to it?

clearly, it isn’t on VW’s Passat configurator and nothing’s been said about it since the fall. so that got me wondering, what the actual hell happened to this? canceled by dieselgate?

if only VW brought over the euro Passat in the first place, I’d get a wagon in a millisecond. here’s hoping the new Tiguan will come as it is.

if it was, then that is a small letdown. I was actually moderately excited to see a finally not boring VW in America for a while

According to the salesman that sold us our last two Passats, the R-Line will be here in the summer from what he’s been told. It’ll be available as an R-Line and an R-Line with Comfort Pack, the latter of which adds V-Tex Leatherette among other features. A Reef Blue R-Line Comfort is a car I'd definitely want to own.
